VISIT US

Please allow us to welcome you to the online home of Christ Reformed DC.

We are a congregation of believers and their children united not by cultural practices, consumer preferences, or political parties, but by one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. We are passionate about the gospel, take worship seriously, and seek to live our lives to the glory of God alone. We welcome all Bible-believing Christians to join us, but we are also intentional members of the Reformed branch of Protestant Christianity and celebrate our Reformed confessional heritage.

Sunday, or the Lord’s Day, is the center of our church’s life. Each Sunday, we enter into a dialogue with our Creator and Redeemer. We hear God’s Law and confess our sins, receiving God’s forgiveness. We hear Christ proclaimed in the Gospel from all the Scriptures and respond with our prayers and praises. Our worship is biblical, Christ-centered, reverent, historical, liturgical, and sacramental.

We believe that the Gospel we encounter in public worship transforms us. While our fellowship is grounded in public worship, it radiates out into a communal life lived seven days a week. Each week we seek to gather in homes and restaurants throughout the Washington area, growing together as a body, supporting one another, and wrestling with how to be faithful witnesses to Christ in the world in which we live.

We believe the church is a unique place in the world. Only in the church can you consistently hear the gospel and be assured that your sins are forgiven. Only in the church can you receive the comfort, rest, and assurance that weary pilgrims need. Only in the church can you experience true unity and community with fellow sinners sheltering in the redeeming work of our Lord Jesus Christ.

You are invited to join us for worship and we welcome all visitors. We also enjoy meeting one-on-one with those who want to learn more about Christ and our church. Feel free to contact us at council@ChristReformedDC.org.

Until then, look around our website and learn about our church, listen to some sermons, and see how we meet Christ in the Bible.

We hope to see you soon.

  • We meet inside Capitol Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church. There is street parking around the building and neighborhood.

  • We are a member church of the United Reformed Churches in North America, within Classis East.

  • Children are welcome and encouraged in our services at Christ Reformed DC! Jesus calls the little children to himself in order to worship as much as the adults.

We do offer a nursery downstairs with audio and video capabilities that streams directly to our services.

  • Our Catechism Service is our service at 9:30 AM. It is generally a briefer service in which we present a lesson from the Three Forms of Unity (Heidelberg Catechism, Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dort). We then have a brief intermission before our Communion Service at 10:30 AM.

  • In obedience to God’s word, we invite visitors to join us at the Lord’s Supper who come worthily, with discernment, and in self-examination (1 Cor. 11:27-32). Since the Apostle Paul reminds us that the Supper can bring both judgment and blessing, we desire to administer this holy meal with the utmost care. If you are a communicant member in good standing of a sister United Reformed Church of North America (URCNA) or North American Presbyterian and Reformed Council (NAPARC) congregation, you are welcome at the table. If not, please confirm with the elders that the following is true before coming to the Supper:

    1. You have been baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

    2. You have made a public profession of faith.

    3. You are repentant of your sins and seek to obey God’s commands.

    4. You are a member in good standing of a Protestant Church that affirms the following:

      • The gospel is summarized in the Apostles’ Creed and/or the Nicene Creed.

      • God’s justification of sinners is on the basis of the imputed righteousness of Christ, which is received by faith alone.

      • The two sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are a means of grace.

      • Church discipline should be exercised according to Scripture.

If this does not describe you or your church, or if you do not understand these criteria, we ask you to please abstain. If you wish to commune with us on a future visit or desire any clarification, please speak with a pastor or an elder after the service. It is our prayer that this practice blesses and protects the recipients of the Supper, encourages Christians to reflect upon their relationship with Christ and His Church, and directs all visitors to the death and resurrection of Jesus as the only source of our spiritual life.

*You may request gluten free bread when you come forward and select non-alcoholic grape juice from the inner ring of the tray.Item description
