About Christ Reformed
O foolish men and slow of heart to believe
in all that the prophets have spoken!
Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things
and then to enter into his glory?
Christ’s strong words on the road to Emmaus could just as easily be addressed to the church today. Christ bore witness to himself and his suffering and glory as the fulfillment of all Scripture. For forty days, Luke tells us, he opened the minds of his disciples to understand the Scriptures in this same way – and likewise to confess their Christ. In the preaching and writing that fills the New Testament, this is the confession we consistently see.
Reformed confessions – such as the Heidelberg Catechism – similarly bear witness to the suffering and glory of Christ, and help us to maintain a faithful understanding of the Scriptures. At Christ Reformed Church, you will find a body of believers committed to the biblical pattern of confessing our guilt, proclaiming the Lord’s grace, and living lives of gratitude. We are a church single-mindedly set on bearing witness to the suffering and glory of our Savior, to preaching “Christ, and him crucified.”
